Jill Rock has been practicing yoga since 1985. In 1999, she was asked by her yoga teacher to apprentice with him and after contemplating for a few months she accepted the challenge. Working full time and having three young children she never looked back and has continued to not only be a yoga teacher but also a yoga student.
She has enjoyed training most recently from Iyengar teachers: Judith Hanson Lasater, Laurie Blakeney and H.S. Arun. Jill enjoys teaching a strong, alignment-based yoga class. She provides hands-on adjustments, essential in the Iyengar tradition and in restorative yoga. Her classes are always changing and adapting to the students.
She found a niche with the iRest Yoga Nidra technique taught by Richard Miller, and was certified in 2008. Since then, she has continued her mediation training, including training to teach iRest to military members.
Jill loves offering that first experience in yoga or meditation to students, sharing the mind-focusing part of the practice that she has come to love. She welcomes students at any and all levels to both her restorative yoga and meditation classes.
